What it is

Nerve monitoring that is simple to run.

AVALANCHE PLUS is the 32 channel neuromonitor from Dr. Langer Medical in Waldkirch, Germany, made for intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) in neuro and spine surgery. It monitors motor and sensory pathways during the operation, so the team sees signal changes as they happen.

The whole system runs from a large touch screen. Langer's ASSISTANCE PACKAGE guides the user through the typical workflow of a surgery in four assisted steps: configuration, patient setup, signal monitoring and the report. Muscle groups are selected and dragged into measurement windows, and the system assigns the stimulators automatically.

Langer lists thyroid, ENT and oral and maxillofacial, vascular, spinal cord and spine, neurosurgery and rectal surgery as fields of application. In 2023 the AVALANCHE PLUS interface received the Red Dot Design Award in the User Interface category.
